Chief Executive Officer, Executive Leadership Team
David Scult comes to Fonality with more than 30 years of experience as an executive at companies on the leading edge of cloud-computing, SaaS integration and collaboration. Prior to Fonality, Scult served as General Manager of Microsoft — Office 365, where he was responsible for global distribution of Microsoft Information Worker products in the cloud, including SharePoint, Exchange and Office. In addition to his role at Microsoft, he brings broad executive experience from large enterprises to more entrepreneurial ventures, and has consistently been at the forefront of innovation in business productivity. Responsibilities included president of Groove Networks, CEO of Radnet and managing director at Lotus Development Corporation/IBM.
Chief Operating Officer, Sales, Support and Operations, Executive Leadership Team
Eric Borrmann has 26 years of experience in the high technology industry with an expertise in the commercialization of technology in global markets – mostly software and some hardware. His responsibilities include finance, sales, operations and software engineering. Eric recently supported NetSuite during a rapid growth period as a Worldwide Sales Operations consultant. He also held sales and financial leadership positions at Mindjet, Plumtree Software and McAfee, all leaders in the software market. Between 1990 and 1995, Borrmann held various executive roles in Finance and Sales at Conner Peripherals, where he led efforts to double sales in the European market. Prior to that, he was a Systems Engineer at EDS from 1985 to 1988. Bormann received his BBA in Accounting and MBA from the University of San Diego.
Executive Vice President Finance & Administration, Executive Leadership Team
Prior to joining Fonality in 2005, Dan was a partner at MMC Capital, an $80M corporate venture capital fund focused on communications-enabling technologies, where he led investments in communications and semiconductor companies. Before MMC, Dan was a Vice President with Mercer Management Consulting's Communications and Information Group; ran StrongLight Advisors, a management-consulting firm; and was a senior product engineer with National Semiconductor Corporation. Dan holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and industrial management from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from Wharton.
Senior Vice President, Product and Corporate Development, Executive Leadership Team
Jeff Valentine has more than a decade of experience running, growing, and selling telecommunications and telecommunications software companies. Prior to Fonality, Valentine was VP of Product for the cloud division at ShoreTel and SVP of Product Marketing at M5 Networks, where he was a member of the executive team that helped sell M5 to ShoreTel in 2011. Before joining M5, he was President and CEO of Callfinity, a telecommunications software provider that grew by more than 500% before being acquired by M5. As an investor, he founded Valentinium, a private equity firm with interests in upstate New York. Valentine is a board member at several organizations including The Strong, Geva Theatre Center, and Pariemus, an organization he co-founded for entrepreneurs and CEOs. He is a cum laude graduate of Cornell University in Materials Science and Engineering with a concentration in Polymer Chemistry.
Senior Vice President, Global Sales
John Young brings more than 13 years of Channel Sales and National Account management to his role leading Fonality’s Global
Sales organization. Since joining Fonality in 2007, he has developed numerous national accounts and channel partners such as Ricoh, Computer Troubleshooters, World Telecom Group and Dell, leading to a 20% growth in Channel revenue year over year. Prior to joining Fonality, John was with Avaya as a Business Development Manager and Select Team Sales Manager responsible largely for SMB sales and annuity revenue streams. He also held a sales leadership position as a Regional Sales Manager with Dallas-based Agility Communications Group.
General Manager, Fonality Philippines
Bess came to Fonality with a strong history in Finance, and led our Finance team in Manila. Her exceptional skill and breadth of knowledge make her ideal for running our operations in the Philippines. She now oversees all functional areas including Operations, Customer Service, Sales, and Marketing in Manila.
Vice President, Marketing
With over 15 years of experience in Marketing, Kimberly has a strong background in business/solution strategy for hosted voice and contact center solutions, market communications, demand generation and sales enablement. As an experienced CRM and telecom executive, she has held leadership roles with organizations including Convergys, Intervoice, Voyant and Tektronix. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration and management from the University of Northern Colorado.

Draper Fisher Jurvetson
Randy Glein joined Draper Fisher Jurvetson in 2002 and is a Managing Director of DFJ Growth Fund. DFJ Growth invests in expansion and growth-stage technology companies that have achieved market validation and are well positioned to be leaders in their industries. Randy's career spans more than 25 years in the technology and media industries as a venture capital investor, operating executive and entrepreneur. He has served on numerous boards and is currently working with portfolio companies that include BrightSource Energy, Fonality, SpaceX, Tesla Motors, Tremor Media and Yodle.
Venu joined Intel Capital in 2000. Prior to Intel Capital, Venu was Product Marketing Manager at Synopsys. Before that Venu worked at Mentor Graphics as a Technical Marketing Manager and at CAD Language Systems, Inc.as Director of Engineering. Venu is a board observer for Concursive, CrowdStar, CloudMade, Fonality, Kaltura,Sendmail, SweetLabs and Urban Airship and his other current investments include Enpirion and GENBAND. He’s managed exits in OpenFeint (acquired by Gree), Platform Solutions, Inc. (acquired by IBM), MySQL (acquired by Sun Microsystems), DataSynapse (acquired by Tibco) and TimesTen (acquired by Oracle). Venu has a BS from Indian Institute of Technology (Kharagpur), an MS from University of Houston and an MBA from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business.

Paul Weinstein is a founding General Partner of Azure with over 25 years of investment experience across numerous sectors of technology. Paul’s primary investment focus is on communications technology, data center, cloud infrastructure and applications and mobility solutions. Paul is currently representing Azure on the boards of Broadlight (acquired by Broadcom), Coraid, Fonality and NeoNova Network Services. Paul has previously served on the boards of World Wide Packets (acquired by Ciena) and Vapps (acquired by Citrix).
Prior to Azure, Paul was a Managing Director and communications equipment analyst covering the Data Communications and Network Equipment sectors at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) in San Francisco. Prior to CSFB, Paul was a Managing Director and held a substantially similar position with Deutsche Bank Securities in San Francisco. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Paul was a Managing Director and held a substantially similar position with Paine Webber in New York and San Francisco. Prior to PaineWebber, Paul was a Senior Vice President and equity research analyst at Kidder Peabody in New York and Boston, where he was responsible for the Data Communications and Data Storage sectors. For four consecutive years (1995-1999), Paul was a top ranked analyst in the Institutional Investor and Greenwich Associates surveys.
Paul has provided strategic and investment advice on numerous communications equipment and data storage companies.
