Fonality today announced that it has been named to the 2005 "pulver 100," which is the VoIP industry's premiere listing of privately held growth companies that represent the future of the communications ecosystem. Fonality has been named to the list due to its market-leading PBXtra, the affordable IP PBX phone system for small businesses that offers enterprise-class phone capabilities at up to 80 percent less cost than other PBX offerings.

Fonality has installed thousands of lines in hundreds of businesses and has signed more than 500 reseller partners in 45 countries. Since PBXtra began shipping last fall, its customers have placed more than 4 million calls.

"As the VoIP industry's first and foremost award listing, the pulver 100 continues to grow in significance because companies like Fonality continue to advance IP communications with innovative products like PBXtra," said Jeff Pulver, founder and chairman of pulvermedia. "We're proud to name Fonality to this year's pulver 100."

"Being named to the pulver 100 is the best possible recognition of Fonality's growth, innovation and ability to satisfy a huge unmet market need," said Chris Lyman, Fonality's CEO. "Small businesses no longer have to settle for expensive, feature-lean phone systems that are impossible to configure. With PBXtra, they get a feature-rich phone system that is affordable and can be administered from a Web browser with simple clicks of the mouse."

In addition to being named to the pulver 100, Fonality's CEO Chris Lyman will be speaking at Fall 2005 VON on the panel "Developing Products with Open Source - Steal This Code," on Monday, September 19 from 10:45 a.m. to noon. Fall 2005 VON will be held September 19-22 at the Boston Convention Center. Fonality will also be exhibiting at the conference at booth 1026.

PBXtra, an Asterisk-based IP PBX that runs on the Linux platform, is available for $995 for PBXtra Standard Edition server, $2,988 with ten phones. PBXtra Call Center Edition server is $1,995. About the pulver 100
Originally introduced in 2002, the pulver 100 features private companies in the communications sector that have substantial real-world deployments and enjoy significant growth rates. The value chain characterized by pulver 100 differs from the vertically integrated telecom model of the last century, focusing more on a networking-industry model that espouses open interfaces, connectivity decoupled from services and software decoupled from hardware.
