Routing phone numbers to extensions

I most likely have the wrong terminology - I am trying to route inbound calls to specific groups of extensions by phone number. Could someone please point me in a direction because I have been unable to find any references (most likely due to the wrong terms)

What you do is add a new

What you do is add a new incoming route, and specify in the "DID Number" field the phone number that you want to route to whomever/whatever.

At the bottom of the add incoming route page, you select the destination - already defined ring groups, extensions, voicemail, IVR's, whatever the case may be.

We do this here - we have a main number for our business that is answered by the main IVR (press 1 for sales, 2 for service, if you know your parties's extension, dial it now, etc) and a second (vanity) number that routes directly to service, bypassing the main IVR.

"Service" in both cases is our help desk, and is merely a pool of extensions in a ring group..
