Activate/Deactivate DND or Forwarding from external line?

First post, first trixbox install, so be gentle; I couldn’t find an answer to this in the forums/docs.
I THINK what I want is a means to activate a specific extension’s DND, or set its forwarding, from an external line. My understanding is that DISA makes callers ‘internal’ but doesn’t allow access to a specific extension’s feature codes.

But perhaps there’s a different way to achieve what I want:
I’m setting up a trixbox system for an all-volunteer performing arts organization. Apart from our internal phones, we’d like to try to try to transfer calls whenever possible to an appropriate volunteer, even if they’re at an outside line, before resorting to voicemail. This all seems straightforward, for the most part:
- IVR to Ring groups (e.g. ‘Box Office’, ‘Volunteers, ‘Facilities’, ‘Development’)
- Ring groups each contain extensions of the personnel who can handle a call concerning that area.
- Some of the people handling calls can use softphones, but others might be taking calls on their cell or home phone and not be near at a computer, so;
- Follow-me enabled on those extensions, and finally;
- Dumping to voicemail if nobody in the ring group is available.
I know users can turn follow-me on/off through the web interface – but ideally, it would be nice if someone could call into our trixbox, enter their extension/pw, and turn off DND when they have a few hours at home during which they are willing to take calls.
Our volunteers’ schedules are unpredictable and being available to take calls is not an obligation for everyone, so we can only implement this if I can make it as simple as possible for them to virtually ‘clock in and out’ – if it’s a big hassle, many volunteers won’t do it.
I’m hoping I’ve been careless and missed an obvious means of accomplishing this – I imagine it could be done with some customization, but I’m not sure where to start. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Have the volunteers log in

Have the volunteers log in and out of a queue. Remote PSTN users can login as a queue member.

Ah, Of course! [slapping

Ah, Of course! [slapping forehead] that's perfect. Didn't know it supported report PSTN agents; glad I had learned about DISA first.
Thanks!
