So what's the problem?

Thats not the problem, thats

Thats not the problem, thats the result... no audio is the result of an improperly setup box. In rare cases network hardware that is not NAT friendly can be to blame.

The ideas you ask for can be found by using the Search box, as this topic comes up often.

There is no one universal answer. Many people have the sip_nat.conf file improperly setup. Other people who have that right in working theory have discovered that asterisk doesn't play well with dynamic IP addresses, and the corresponding externhost.

Cisco is fun

Well, i don't understand their statement of "fixed configuration" on their website, bu i have had plenty of experience working with cisco devices.

So, I notice that the device has listed
Advanced security including:

* Stateful Inspection Firewall
SPI can be a PITA!

Do you know if there is a way to tell the router to expect sip, and not mangle the ports during NAT translation?

Sometimes this might be referred to as a SIP ALG (application layer gateway)

A cisco pix would take the command no fixup-sip.

And so on. I would defiantly recommend providing your sip_nat.conf file sans your FQDN or public ip, but please differentiate between the two.

Fixed configuration means

Fixed configuration means that the device does not have any WIC or NM slots. The interfaces are all integrated.

The OP needs to list the IOS version of the router. The firewall feature set on routers is very slim compared to a PIX.
