My AASTRA 6755i won't dial any long distance #'s? Says "Call Failed". Local and incoming work fine?

I just setup my AASTRA 6755i VoIP phone and it has successfully registered via sip to my trixbox ce.

I have all of my trunks and routes setup properly in trixbox. I can use the "x-lite" softphone to make calls; both local and long distance work fine.

When I try to make a long distance call in format "1-Nxx-Nxx-xxxx" using my AASTRA 6755i it results in a "call failed" message on the phone LCD and a fast busy tone on the speaker...

I can dial the same # using the x-lite softphone and it completes successfully as it should.

I CAN however make local calls in format "Nxx-xxxx" using the AASTRA 6755i with no problems. I also have one of my DIDs setup to ring directly to the AASTRA 6755i and it works with no problems as well...

I am wondering what the heck is going on!!! I am thinking it is a dialplan on the AASTRA phone itself, currently I am back to the default dial plan --- but I have tried several different dial plans to no avail.

I wonder if there is some way to see if the call is even getting sent to the trixbox? I tried a "SIP TRACE" to my outbound trunk on trixbox, but nothing shows up when trying the long distance calls --- when I dial local, I see the call in the CLI...

Any help is much appreciated.

ARRRGGHHHH THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING...

Okay well somehow I managed to break my 1/2 working config... Now I can only dial internal extensions....

All I want is for the AASTRA to accept "Nxx-xxxx" and "1-Nxx-Nxx-xxxx" and pass it to the trixbox...

How can I accomplish this??????????

Can you dial the long

Can you dial the long distance number on your aastra keypad (without picking up the receiver or hitting speakerphone) and then lift the receiver to see if the call goes through.

It sounds like your Aastra dial plan is messed up or not configured properly.

Check out your aastra.cfg and mac.cfg file and adjust the dial plan accordingly

You should have something like this in your aastra.cfg (probably shouldn't have the dial plan in the mac.cfg)

sip dial plan: "x+#|xx+*|[2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX|1[2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX|1XXXXXXXXXX"

where is the aastra.cfg?

Okay so maybe this is a stupid question? But what is the aastra.cfg and where can I find it?

I have a bare trixbox install --- I haven't installed ANY modules... I think though, that I did see an aastra module somewhere?

OKAY UPDATE:

Against my better judgement I reset the aastra phone (branded by PACKET8) back to factory defaults.... This time I left the config file script enabled so that it would go out to packet 8 and download their config file.

Upon rebooting the phone said "downloading firmware" - I was nervous because sometimes the new firmware can "lock" the phone to the provider. BUT I GOT LUCKY! It rebooted and loaded up with all these fancy configs AND I was still able to access the GUI and change my sip information.

I rebooted and now I can call!

I noticed the firmware is 2 revisions older than on the aastra support page --- but the phone IS working so I won't mess with it. The volume and quality of local calls seems "quieter and not as "clear"" but at least I can make long distance calls now!

The "local dial plan" is the same default dial plan I had on the newer firmware that got overwritten -- so I am assuming there is some other config data that has fixed the problem?

HAPPY DAY!

BUT I AM STILL INTERESTED IN WHAT THE " AASTRA.CFG " IS???

Thanks for any help!
