No Audio

Right i've set-up a simple test trixbox and got 4 extensions working along with 4 softphones.

I've tested all my call routes and music on hold, voicemail etc using the 7777 with the softphones.

I've also signed up with sipgate to get an incoming number over VoIP, now i have a incoming route set-up that all calls go to queue 700, which i have confirmed works with the softphones.

But when i call my number 0168688XXXX the softphones ring in the order they are ment to put the caller doesn't hear a thing! no ringing, no music on hold and after 2mins no prompt to leave a message.

Any Ideas why or is it just down to the fact i'm using a Free VoIP service?

Is your port forwarding correct?

A common cause of no audio is your firewall stops it.

This is from “Trixbox without tears” chap 38
Sip ports: 5004 - 5082 (UDP and TCP), more if you want to.
RTP ports: 10000 – 10500 (UDP) – this should be enough.
(but check Sipgate to see if they have specific information)

Then check Portforward.com here: http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/router...

Pick your router, - then look at some of the settings they have for Sip services like viatalk – (they look like reasonably std sip ports)

This should show you a bunch of screen shots, specific to your router so you can check that all is in place & as it should be.

well i've opened the ports

well i've opened the ports but still no audio, but i do think it's the firewall.

I'm using a Juniper Netscreen 25 baseline, anyone else have one that may be able to help me. I've got a quote for a LG system coming on Friday and need this trixbox working for then to prove it's a better solution than spending £4K on a system

it defo the firewall as i've

it defo the firewall as i've moved the trixbox over to a different gateway (BT Hub thing) and it works straight a way.

So anyone have info on configuring Netscreen devices to work with trixbox. I'm going to E-mail Juniper direct as well as i have a support contract with them.

double check the settings in sip_nat.conf

make sure you have the correct settings for your external IP address or FQDN as well as the local subnet settings
