If I am testing providers servers from my location, what packet size should I use for the test?

What ping times am I looking for?

Also, what packet loss ia good/acceptable/bad etc....?

Thanks again in advance for everyone's help.

I don't know that pinging

I don't know that pinging with a specific packet size will tell you much.

Good ping times ideally hould be steady and

0% is the only acceptable packet loss. It might also be important to keep an eye on the source of the packet loss (e.g. it could be your own Internet connection an opposed to anything to do with the VoIP provider you're testing). Ping Plotter is useful to see where the delays are.

Use about 200 bytes, then

Use about 200 bytes, then the size of your packet about matches packets sent by G711 codec, and the ping response time is an indication for round trip delay
