SPA942 won't answer calls from extensions

Hi, I'm fairly new to Trixbox - wouldn't call myself a novice but wouldn't call myself an expert.

I have a client running TB 2.2.2 with Grandstream XP2000 phones and no problems. The client has 10 Linksys SPA942 originally with firmware v4.1.18 and had no problems making internal calls to extensions or external calls of any type. As the firmware is relatively old I downloaded the current release v5.1.15(a) from Linksys applied it and all tested OK so I did the other 9 phones (stupid me in hindsight !!). When I moved 9 of the phones to their allocated desks (ie a power cycle) none of the SPAs can now answer a call from another extension using a softphone or Grandstream or SPA942, but they can make external calls through a ZAP or IAX2 route.

I have deleted and recreated the new extensions in TB, factory reset the 9 x SPA942's and reconfigured them exactly the same as per the 10th SPA942 (which has not had the power cycle yet), swapped/reconfigured a SPA942 with a Grandstream extension and vice versa with the opposite results (as expected), downgraded the firmware to 5.1.15, 5.1.10, 5.1.5 and still no change.

I haven't tested inbound calls via groups, queues yet as I can only do this after hours, and I don't want to completely stuff myself up any furtehr.

Any ideas ?? as I've spent most of the weekend trying to solve this
