SQL Password can't be changed

I just reinstalled Trixbox on our server and upgraded it up to 2.6.1.13. I'm now working to secure my trixbox by following several documents here on this site. So I logged into my Trixbox using root and root password and tried to change the default MySQL password by using the following command:

mysqladmin -u asteriskuser -p password >

It then asked to enter in my password so I entered in the amp109 and pressed > again.

I then get the following error message:

mysqladmin: Can't turn off logging; error: 'Access denied; you need the SUPER privilege for this operation'

Why am I getting this error message if I'm logged in as root?

Nice Instructions

These are nice instructions. However I do see a very minor bug on it.

If you go down 6 steps you get to the title "Changing the SQL password on trixbox 2.6.1 and older systems". Shouldn't that read "Changing the SQL password on trixbox 2.6.1 and NEWER systems" instead?
