I was wondering if there is a way to keep employees from chatting with each other using hud3.0. I was hired in as summer help and am a mechanical engineering student, I am fairly well rounded when it comes to computers but this issues that my employer wants addressed is a little over my head. I have read lots of documentation about chat and its features. I have logged in as the administrator and gone into the groups then department and removed the chat option from the permissions tab. I thought this would be the solution( no luck) . What my employer would like is for the chat function to be disabled to all departments. they(Administrators) wish to only be able to initiate chat with some one in a department. they wish to have no chatting between the non admin employees in the departments.
The system running is 2 poweredge 1950 , 30 or so astra phones , edge water, and hud 3.0 .
Is it possible to disable chat function another way? ( I previously removed the chat function from the permissions list)
Is it possible to allow only the admins to initiate a chat with a employee in the department.
