trixbox CE 2.6.0.7 does not see Digium tdm400p on installation and genzaptelconf is no longer a valid command?
trixbox CE 2.6.0.7 does not see Digium tdm400p on installation?
setup-pstn did not work
is setup-pstn working or what, seems to be broken in the latest download
any other way to setup up a card?
FIXED...it's no longer a trixbox
Tim,
What worked ??
Have a bunch of 2.2.n and 2.4.n boxes that are needing some updates & security patch's, one has a bad drive and will have to be reloaded. But in reading the verbiage posted along with 2.6.0.7 I get the feeling that even though 2.4 was supposed to be the last scrub and restart in the 1.4 tree, that every subsequent version is becoming so, and I don't have the time for that !
Something as basic as the TDM400 should work out of the box on any version.
Is it a rush to publish or a bad test plan with no regresion testing ???
Well guys, I wish you could give you a solid answer....
I ran into the same issue (its a global ZAPTEL issue..Digium Rhino.. etc..) Everything seemed cool on 2.4.0. I ran some updates to the modules through the AMP and my zap channels vanished! no calls in none out! Busy inbound and Allison's All circuits are busy message when outbound. So, I search for zap issues here and tried the normal updates as anyone would. AMP and the YUM updates... crazy thing is, I simply did them again (yum) and it seemed to have healed itself! Crazy I know, but hey... its working! yeeeikes! hate the weird ones!
It appears to be with the 2.6 upgrade as well. Fresh installs seem fine, but the upgrades are abit flakey. If you do have a core update, run it 1st but DO NOT apply the change! go and get the rest of the updates before running the "APPLY CHANGES" otherwise you will see your server do a single handstand with a half gainer dismount! Impressive, but nasty ending!
T
well in this case its now a pbxinaflash system. I had to have it back and running in an office Monday morning.
Something must have borked during the install. My Digium TDM400 came up during the install and genzaptelconf and setup-pstn both work.
Tim,
Why you have more problems than anyone else and you claim you have even taken the FtoCC class. Based on a number of your recent posts that appear you are the only person having the "problems", sounds like you are just a flame troll these days. Thanks for playing, go buddy up with Ward and see how much help you get over there with that dead project. Did I say dead? Sorry, what I meant was a project that is going nowhere so fast that they had to give aways CDs with it at the FreePBX training just to get people to even look at it.
Hey smart guy, ever heard of a deadline or are just one of these guys with a pc at your house and you play around with it for fun. I downloaded the iso twice and loaded it twice and it failed to pick up the digium card. I loaded up Elastix and pbxinaflash and they both picked up the digium card. So now it's monday morning 5am and I need to have a server back in my clients office at 8an that works. So now what would you do?
A: play around with trixbox and hope to get it working, if not call the advertising company who it belongs to and tell them they have no phones and can't do business today.
B: Load up another distribution thats working seeing they all run on freepbx and do the basics and go to the clients office and finish up.
Boy, thats a tough decision. I have been installing these system since asterisk@home 1.0 and I'm no linux guru but at some point you have to do whatever it take to get your client back in business. Talk about flamming, the guys at trixbox will tell you that Ward has done more than enough to contribute to the trixbox project so your comments are not only stupid but very unjustified. Hey Astraa just just released and asterisk appliance, they must idiots to. Get a life, my problem is fixed.
Well, hate to say it but like many of your other so-called problems, nobody else is having the same issue so its either in your head or you are spreading BS just to be another Nerd-Fanboy. Did you bother to check the MD5Sums? Probably not and you are blaming trixbox for your problems. Kerry said it worked for him, I have installed it and it worked fine, but instead of trying to figure out what's wrong with your download or burn (probably burning at a slower speed may have even have solved it) you come on here smalling trixbox and the developers and state that you are now using another distro. Well personally I hope they delete this thread as an advertisment for another product and hope the door doesn't hit you in the ass on the way out....oh yeah, you will still have to come here for support because nobody using those other distros are any help what so ever in those forums so you have to hijack these forums to get support for another project. What a joke.
I would be interested to know what happened when you ran setup-pstn. As with all trixbox releases I have tested 2.6.0.7 with quite a few Digium, Sangoma, and Rhino cards. I didn't have any problems. Did you get an error or did it just not find the card?
wow you are really something else. Were in my post was I smalling anyone? I was simply asking for some help on an issue I was stumped on and needed resolution at in a hurry.
I think making sure my client could use their phones this morning was my priority not what flavor of asterisk I was going to use to make it happen. Like I said I used another distro because I had 2 hours to make some magic happen. When I have problems that I cannot figure I post every forum where freepbx is used, not just here. When I left my office I was loading up another trixbox there for testing.
You have turned this thread into something it is not. I have meet Kerry, Andrew and the rest of the gang at the Boston training and was thrilled to have attended.
Unless you have some positive feedback for people here asking for some help than mind your own dam business and keep your simply minded comments to yourself.
I don't think Fonality has hired you to police these forums and be rude and disrespectful to others asking for some help and advice. Go bug someone else.
Andrew
I think I still have the 2 iso I tried in my office. I will load it up again in a couple days and see what the error was and post it. I did notice that the installation ended differently than normal but though it was something new. Again, I was in a huge rush to get a system up and running.
I will get back with you.
WOW and I thought we were all suppose to he adults here.
the only one who gets "called out."
Funny thing is this is the kind of thread that causes people to leave the community.
To be fair, Tim did complain about a problem and boldly stated he left for another distro with the phrase "its fixed, its no longer trixbox" (which sounds very belittling to me) and Fred is pointing out (in his own style) that Tim is still babbling on about stuff and is still here even though he is supposedly happier with other distros. Everyone else is simply adding to it without contributiing anything useful.
However, I wonder why your nickname with 1 post was registered 2006-05-31?
That and no sig...
Company Troll perhaps?
I guess I'm the oly one here that does work on other distributions. I find that very hard to believe. I test every new flavor that hits the internet to be honest with you, I guess thats a crime. freepbx is on 99% of the iso's out there now so when they release their iso who is going to give it a try?
And when I said "its fixed, it no longer a trixbox" that was not to belittle this project or developers.
I did a fresh download this morning and loading up a new tb server for a client to be installed next week. I think this is a great project but I'm certain not going to bash other ones. I'm done....
Tim,
Perhaps you are the only one to evaluate every version of every distro, who knows. I do not, I am not going to have a mixmashed hodgepodge of systems out there to support. I am going to stick to one platform that I know is well supported, well funded, with good developers, and the best IP PBX community in existence. I am not going to have gone-in-a-flash, SchmoozePBX, or Elastix test machines as they do not serve any purpose when I am working with multiple clients. I sure as hell am not going to be running other distros and then coming here for support because those other communities have no users. You comment "its fixed, its not longer trixbox" is one of the most insulting comments I have seen directed towards Andrew, Kerry and their team in a long time. I have met them multiple times and have never met a crew that busts their asses as hard as they do (look at Kerry, I see him post often at 5am until midnight), they bust out new versions more often than all other distros combined, and the product is getting better by the day. Its posts like YOURS that make people leave this community thinking there is some major problem with trixbox when it clearly isn't. Personally, I was disgusted by your tone and your comment and everyone that reads it should comment about how tasteless, untactful, and rude it was.
The Fred
I said I was done, I'm over it. You should do the same and get on with your life.
Please can you take this discussion private as it is of no interest to those of who are using the forums to find answers to our problems.
jamrod this discussion ended weeks ago. This is a public forum we can discuss anything we choose to.
Just for reference, I am having the same issue with 2.6.0.7 and TDM400P card with 2 x FXO and 1 x FXS. Only just installing it now so it may well be something I am doing. Card seems to register OK and ztcfg -vv and zttool show the card to be OK. setup-pstn configures everything without errors (that I can tell) but cant get inbound or outbound calls through.
The card does not have the power connected for the FXS so that may be an issue but will check that later.
I did have updates applied on the first run and after reading some possible issues with updates, performed a clean install to check.
Have another system with X100P card and everything went smoothly with that.
Will keep trying but in the mean time if anyone else has had a similar situation.......
Cheers all.
