Changing Call Pickup code through the GUI have no effect. only works through the conf file

Hi,
Group and call pick are set ok and I changed the feature code do '*10' instead of '*8'
I was about to give up using trixbox cause it wasn't letting me pickup calls no matter what...until I put the line 'pickupexten = *10' in the 'features_general_custom.conf' file.

Is this a freepbx bug? Anyone NOT using the default call pickup feature code had this problem?
I'm using trixbox 2.6.1.13
