Hamachi alternative?

Unfortunately, LogMeIn has broken the Linux/OSX Hamachi betas that trixbox uses, and is not permitting new clients to register with the service. So, this brings me to ask if there is anything else out there that is relatively easy and works well?

After a week or two of not being able to join the network from the linux client, and not finding any real answers on how to make it work again, I contacted Hamachi support with the problem. They were very nice, but explained that for the time being, I'm out of luck. They are in the process of building new versions for Linux/OSX, but until those versions are released, they have no solution.

I suppose I could go back to opening ports on the firewall, but would prefer to not do that if possible. I'm open for suggestions. This is on a 2.6.2.3 system.

Thanks,
Chris

That's interesting, Hamachi

That's interesting, Hamachi was working yesterday.

Don't even consider opening ports. Get a VPN enabled router/firewall. You might also consider Poptop PPTP software for Linux.

While I haven't tried it

While I haven't tried it yet, Remobo looks like a decent Hamachi alternative. More information can be found at http://www.remobo.com/

I'm guessing that if you

I'm guessing that if you were already setup, that Hamachi will continue to work, but new accounts no longer register until they release the new version. I will certainly look into both options you gentlemen have suggested.

Thanks!
Chris
