I have trixbox set up now with inphonex VOIP. We have always had a huge delay when ever the callis are forwarded out side of the office (ie forward to a cell phone.) I am trying to figure out if we go to POTS if this will help with the delay?
Also what is the best FXO Card to buy if i only need two lines incoming?

Any ideas will be great!

What i need. call coming in IVR picks up and transfers to ring group then calls cell phone and extensions.
Thanks
Bryan

Yup Sangoma

They're brilliant. Reliable, easy to configure and the support is second-to-none. Just keep an eye on the support opening hours if you're not in their TZ.

Card selection is requirements dependant

Question: What is the best car to buy; I only need it big enough for two people?
Response 1: BMW
Response 2: Yes BMW. They are brilliant, nice to drive and customer support/servicing is second to none.

If you pose a question but do not provide enough information for people to provide an informed/considered response, then the response is likely to be of little value. I would also suggest that those providing the response may not be the best people to help answer your question.

There are many factors to consider when selecting the most appropriate card for your IP PBX server including budget, time constraints, support requirements, distance from the CO/exchange, server PCI/PCI-E slot availability, etc.

However, if your primary reason for installing the card is to reduce call transfer delay then I would suggest first of all quantifying what the delay is and investigating the cause before purchasing new hardware. This should be relatively simple to do by checking the Asterisk CLI output when transferring the call, although you may need to increase the verbosity and test transferring a call out of office hours to make isolating the call transfer information easier.

BMW???

I would have bought American.... lets help our economy... In your case - maybe Jaguar would have been a better choice... Wave the Jack high and be proud!

I would say these forums

I would say these forums have alot of fanboyism. My recommendation would be rhino but ofcourse I look biased and if you know enough people you will see most responses probably are biased at some level.

-General rule don't be cheap. No Clones period!
-On All analog cards EC is a must
-Look at and evaluate all your choices.
-You want to buy from one of the big 3.

http://rhinoequipment.com (of course I am putting us first )
http://digium.com
http://sangoma.com

Following the above rules you should be safe.
(now for the shameless plug yeah I have to do it....)
When you follow the above rules the real difference will come down to support and ease of install. our cards have a 1 command install which includes a system where our drivers are not affected by the yum issues. We also give you 30 days risk free return policy, Free Hardware support, Made in the USA and typically no long hold times for support.
(end shameless plug)

In the end it is not about marketing or any of the other fluff it is about having something that works with as little hair loss as possible, as far as we are concerned I can say for sure we have the freedom to think outside the box and sometimes if you want something done you cant be stuck in a box.
