How to file a bug report

In order to streamline the bug fixing process I am going to outline exactly how to report a bug so that we can fix it quickly. First of, only report bugs or feature requests, do not ask for tech support in a bug report. We will simply close those bugs and tell you to post in the forums.

If the suspected bug is in FreePBX, please go to freepbx.org and report the bug directly to them, this way their development team will see the bug and can fix it.

If you are this far and still feel you have a bug, here are the 3 pieces of information every bug needs to have in it.

Subject
Please make this short and to the point (e.g. Nothing is showing in packages)

A Summary
Write a brief summary that explains the issue (e.g. When you go to the packages module, the page is blank)

Steps to recreate the bug
This is VERY important as a bug may require a specific set of steps for it to be reproducible. During our testing we may do something slightly different and not see the bug. The following is an example:
Go to trixbox dashboard
Click on [Switch] link
Login with username and password
Click on Packages link

We really appreciate the bugs we are getting and the better the bug report is, the fast we can reproduce a bug and issue a fix. Once a bug has been fixed internally, we will change the status to "tested staging" so you know it should be fixed in the next build. Once we publish the bug fix we will then close the ticket.

bug in tbm-configedit 2.6.1

When changing to edit files in any directory (other than the default, /etc/asterisk), the internal (in cls_phpconfig.php and used in phpconfig.php) _OC_config_dir is not being set properly, therefor you can not edit any file that is not in /etc/asterisk, because _OC_config_dir is always set to '/etc/asterisk' so if you click a file under, say, /tftpboot, it says "Unable to read configuration file."

To reproduce, click PBX->Config Editor, then click /etc or any dir other than /etc/asterisk and try to edit a file.

I have done some debugging to discover this problem. Please get this information to the proper developers, or put me in contact with them, I would be glad to help.

Thanks,
Karl Haines
