trixbox CE version is 2.6.1.10

After selecting fax reception to "System" in FreePBX, an incoming fax to any line will result in an attempt to connect and asterisk will crash and restart.

Any ideas???

What's your fax detection

What's your fax detection method ZAP or NVFAX??

Also, how is the FAX coming in (SIP, POTS, PRI, ISDN...) and what card are you using if any?

Not sure what the detection

Not sure what the detection method is since the new FreePBX doesn't allow you to select the detection type.

The fax is coming in on T-1's one is E&M Wink Channels the other is just a T-1 with loopstart channels. Makes no difference which circuit is used, same actions happen either way.

Using the Digium T120

Not sure what you mean...

Not sure what you mean... the fax detection type is set under your inbound routes (which-ever route you're using to catch the fax). It's under the section labeled "FAX Handling" and has these entries:

Fax Extension:
Fax Email:
Fax Detection Type: Pause After Answer:

In my experience with FAX detection, if the detection type is set to Zaptel, it will cause a crash. If you set it to NVFAX, it seems to work just fine.

Chris, Excuse my

Chris,

Excuse my retardedness.

I didn't think about the inbound routes.

Currently, my Any DID/Any CID has the following

Fax Extension: FreePBX Default
Fax Email: Nothing
Fax Detection Type: None
Pause After Answer: Nothing

I'll setup it for NVFax and see what happens.

Thanks for pointing out my old timer's disease...

You will also want to pause

You will also want to pause after answering - it will give the system more time to detect fax tones - I have mine set at 3 and receives faxes perfect. I have the system setup to email them to me instead of directing to a fax machine extension and automatically printing them.
