I've just burn ISO CD with new TB 2.4.2 and I've tried to install it on a test machine that has this hardware :
- MB ASUS P4B533
- Intel PIV 2.4 GHZ
- HD WD IDE 40GB
- 1 GB RAM
- NIC Card Fast Ethernet RealTek RTL8139
Every seems works fine during installation but at the end of this, during the boot and before to login to machine the message : "eth0 failed" and "eth0 not installed" are printed out the screen.
The question is: the same Ethernet card (RealTek RTL8139) works fine on an other machine in production environment (but with different HW), and, at the same time, this ethernet card (RealTek RTL8139) is not listed on the Centos5 HCL as a card NOT supported and on the Red Hat HCL list is declared : Compatible.
I suspect that with the new TB 2.4.2 a network card driver installation is required differently from 2.2 (actually working in my production environment) for wich all works fine whitout the need to install any periferal drivers (no for network card or for any other component).
Is right this or I'm in error?

im having the same issue as you. Did you ever get this answered?
do a serch on the network card you mention on the forum, I am sure that I have had this issue too, along with others, and it was easier to just put another card into the box and disable the onboard card
I've fixed the issue in this manner:
1) /etc/rc.d/init.d/network stop
2) system-config-network -> private IP address and default gateway (i.e. 10.10.10.1 - 10.10.10.254)
3) /etc/rc.d/init.d/network start
In this manner the issue was fixed.

j'ai installer Trixbox 2.4.0 l'installation a bien passé. au démmarage de système j'ai essayer de connecter à l'interface de configuration de l'IPBX en tapant la commande suivante: ssh -l root @ip de eth0 . il m'a demandé le mot de passe root. aprés avoir donner le mot de passe il m'a affiché le message suivant: eth0: not installed
j'ai pas compris le problème. s'il vous plait j'attend une réponse comment faire pour installer eth0?
