Hi Everyone,
I am thinking of setting up a trixbox App in my Office of 6 Users. Just had a couple of queries:

1. Is it possible to soley use the IP Phone to transact with the IPPBX or is it essential to use the HUDLite App.
a. The reason I ask this is I have had a situation where my Router has failed and the whole network became unoperational. So basically what I'm asking is; does the IP Phone have to be plugged into a CPU (running HUDLite) and be reliant on the router to connect to the IPPBX or will the data cable be coming straight from the IPPBX. Like any other business, we can't afford to have our phone system down if the network goes down.

2. Is it essential to Maintain the IPPBX, because we use windows and sometimes it is nessecary to restart the Computer and do defragmenting etc.

3. I have seen excellent books on how to set up TrixBox, but is there a good resource on some of the things to watch out for when setting it up. Such as common Pit Falls that users have encountered etc.

Your help is much appreciated, I am really looking forward to using Trixbox!

If the internal LAN is out

If the internal LAN is out of service your phones will not work.

The Hudlite application, PC or any other computer other than the server trixbox is running on do not have anything to do with call processing.

You should have a good UPS on the trixbox server and the ethernet switch serving the phones.
