Voicemail notification

ok, I have what I think is an interesting situation. I am setting up the trixbox to function as a voicemail system behind a legacy PBX. I have almost everything functioning right now except one issue. I can turn the message waiting lights on at the phones in the legacy PBX when there is a message left in the trixbox voicemail box, but how can I turn them off when a message is saved or deleted? It requires that the voicemail sends a notification to the legacy PBX phone by having the trixbox go offhook on one of my FXO lines and then dial a station number and deactivation code. If anyone has any ideas they would be GREATLY appreciated.

what pbx vendor?

How are you turning them ON now? Should be the same scenario, just a different code...activation/deactivation.

example, avaya requires that the SAME extension that turns the MWI ON, turn it OFF.... so if extension 1234 turns it on, 5678 cant turn it off, 1234 will have to.

Matt, Thanks for the reply.

Matt,

Thanks for the reply. I don't have that scenario in the Tadiran PBX. I turn them on now by using the cell phone notification program in the trixbox to dial the appropriate external PBX extension and pass the code. The problem is that I don't know where I would go to program the voicemail to send the "off" code when the voicemail box was emptied.

oh..gotcha

your close... what you want is the vmnotify.pl script from Matt (forgot last name) ...

This is the script I've used in the same scenario your using... Take a look at this post, disregard the mention of qsig, not needed for this setup. Just skip to the very last post from me... remember this was a plain asterisk install, you can do the same with trixbox and inbound routes....etc... I'll see if I can find the original post/website I got the script from...

http://www.trixbox.org/forums/trixbox-forums/open-discussion/4-di...

That script monitors the mailbox, so it knows if has new voicemail or if they have all been read...
