Using sip.tollfreegateway.com for a free 800 trunk

Over the years I have fiddled around with setting up my Trixbox to handle 800 calling. At one point I used FreeWorldDialup, but it is no longer free.

e164.org has THREE sites providing 800 calls for free, but it takes time to get this to respond.

tollfreegateway.com advertises on their site that this is a service they provide, I assume they pick up a few coins for each 800 we place through them.

So I found some simple instructions at http://pbxinaflash.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2750&page=2

1) set up a custom trunk to sip.tollfreegateway.com with the Custom Dial String, which should be:

sip/164164$OUTNUM$@sip.tollfreegateway.com

This will take any call routed to this trunk and throw it to the tollfreegateway.com server (while adding the 164164 prefix the gateway wants).

Now set up an outbound route to use this trunk. I used the following for the dial pattern:

1|800NXXXXXX
1|866NXXXXXX
1|877NXXXXXX
1|888NXXXXXX
800NXXXXXX
866NXXXXXX
877NXXXXXX
888NXXXXXX

Enjoy free 800 calling.
