Does anyone know a carrier which handles call forwarding flawlessly? I am having an issue with a rate center violation trying to port a number to a circuit and want to port the number into a provider and turn on call forwarding.
Best call forwarding
The carrier has to have presence in the rate center of the number you are trying to port.
Call forwarding works anywhere you simply pay prevailing LD.
Thanks Scott. That's why I am asking if anyone knows a good voip provider that handles call forwarding well. I am using flowroute for this number and unfortunately I have had issues with their call forwarding.
I don't understand the connection between the port (having presence in the correct rate center) and call forwarding being reliable.
Ok I will try to re-explain.
I cant port a number to a PRI that I have due to a rate center violation. Therefore I am looking to port to a voip provider which does call forwarding well(Most I have seen do a poor job.) From there I can simply forward the number to a DID on the circuit... That make sense?
I had a customer with a toll-free from Vitelity and he shut down his office and wanted that number to point to an analog line he had at home. I had failover programmed with Vitelity's portal to his home number. Since his office system was no longer registered, calls failed over just as expected. I never heard of any complaints from the customer and this was in place for quite a few months...so I assume it worked all the time without issue. I'm not sure this is OK within their TOS though, so I would check that out.
I have used Vitelity's forwarding but unfortunately I have had some bad experience with larger volume of calls being forwarded. Choppy calls, static, etc.
Many of my clients are set up with Teliax. Some request that their DIDs forward to another number. It can easily be done and I've never heard of any problems.
