Hey All,

I'm a newbie to the trixbox. So please bear with me if I ask dumb questions.

I have finished the installation and it was very easy. I managed to setup softphones on the LAN and they worked easily. I have installed the trixbox on the VMware and as a result I have been assigned with the LAN ip. Now the first question

1. I want one of my friends who lives in other part of the city wants to connect to his extension which is on my trixbox(having Private IP) installed in the VMware. How do I make that happen?

And the hardest part starts now. As I am trying to setup a call center(Employees work from their Home), I took the Vonage Adapter which suits for my business. I took the Vonage Unlimited connection a couple of days back. I want to assign all my employees their own extensions and they should be able to call outside whenever the vonage phone is not in use. The questions I got for the configuration for the vonage adapter are:

2. How do I get this vonage connection to work with trixbox?

3. I intend to use this in a small office environment with 10 extensions at different locations, can these 10 people be able to make calls(Simultaneous Not Required) through this 1 vonage line considering the bandwidth and the box meet the requirement?

I'm sorry if I've asked something silly. but the answers will let me have a clearer picture on using trixbox and help me learn more about it.

Thanks
Karthik Reddy

First you need to dump

First you need to dump Vonage and get a real SIP provider that can support multiple calls and does not require an analog interface.

Second every task you want is covered in the documentation wiki, including setting up NAT for the remote phones.

You will never be happy with the NAT so you should start configuring VPN's for your remote users.

Assuming you purchased the

Assuming you purchased the small business plan you are still violating Vonage ToS.

I quote:

Quote:
If you subscribe to any of Vonage's small business plans, we provide our service and the device to you solely for use as a small business user or domestic business traveler. The following uses are not considered small business uses and are not permitted under small business plans: autodialing; continuous or extensive call-forwarding, inbound/outbound centralized or distributed call center activity, telemarketing of any kind (including, but not limited to, charitable or political solicitation or polling); fax or voicemail broadcasting and fax or voicemail blasting. (See also Section 10.) If you subscribe to Business Plus, you are responsible for supplying, operating, and supporting the standard SIP based Customer Premise Equipment for use with the service. As the subscriber and operator or administrator of this equipment, you are responsible for maintaining the security of the equipment, including but not limited to the physical and network security elements of your device.

I suggest you find a more appropriate service for your call center.
