Web Meetme Controlled Conferencing

I am not sure what all it would take, but I am putting up a bounty for someone experienced to help me put together a webinar conference center.
I will be hosting a few types of webinar conferences every once in a while with upwards of 300 ~ 600 people from all over the US and elsewhere and have a few parameters to meet.

FIRST, I need a WHITELIST that will allow callers into the conference based on their CID that match a list of numbers I have allowed, and sending all others to just listen to ring tones or something, letting all calls, rejected or accepted, to be logged.

SECOND, I need by default ALL users BUT the moderator to be MUTED, and have no join/leave sounds, and with NO ability to unmute from the user end, only the ability to unmute them via the web interface, or even easier than that, to give the few that I want to be able to speak the PIN that I have created, thus cutting out all confusion.

THIRD, be advised that all callers will be external callers, not a part of this phone system. Could anyone give me an educated guess as to how many callers could join one conference on one trixbox 2.8.0.3 on a Dual Core 2.8GHz, can be up to 8GB RAM with approximately 45MB up and down internet connection over VOIP/SIP trunking?
OR, please tell me if I am looking down the right track. Should I be using trixbox for this or is there something that would do webinars better?

Let me know what it would take. I will take care of you, and I am anxious to find out if I can put this together soon.

conf server

For the number of users you are looking I would be going with http://www.freeswitch.org/ it handles this function much better (less CPU use).

I am sure you could do it trixbox but I think you would need two or three boxes.

Great!! Thanks bubbapcguy!

I am very open to ideas, and because I dont know the first thing about freeswitch, I would still host a bounty to have some help and input from someone to help me put this together.
As far as 3, 4, or 5 servers, I can do that with trixbox, not a problem with the hardware there.

AGAIN, my first concern is the WHITELIST that will allow/disallow callers into the conference,

then make sure that by default there is NO join/disjoin noises and beeps, and all members will be MUTED by default, unless they have the moderator PIN

I dont care which way we go, trixbox vs. freeswitch, but would still be open to whoever would like to help me accomplish this. (I am familiar with trixbox, and if freeswitch isn't too far different, I possibly could catch on to that one. Learning is good)

Is this a module you add

Is this a module you add into trixbox and then run it inside the trixbox, and for high availability I would cascade more servers?? Do I have the theory? Please inform me.

plug in

There is no easy 1 2 3 for this, clustering asterisk is not something which works well nor is it a easy setup.
The place to go is the freeswitch web site for this.

All of what you want is custom coding there is no plug n play for this.

FindMe

In trixbox Pro, there is a findme that forwards calls based on a whitelist.
http://www.sureteq.com/asterisk/trixbox_pro_v2.0.htm
Is there any way to implement this feature into CE, and if the number passes the whitelist, it is then given the ability to enter a conference number, and if it is not in the whitelist, it is either rejected or plays ringtones to them until they hangup?

How many callers in one trixbox, and what hardware?

How many callers can I have in one trixbox conference call, and what server would someone recommend? I will let that be my limit as to how large I want to go. All I really need is the WHITELIST and the defaults for silence and not two way audio for all callers.

Zigg.z; I have some

Zigg.z;
I have some expertise regarding pushing Asterisk to the limit. I recently setup a voice broadcasting/autodialer system for a nonprofit where they made 200,000 calls on a single Asterisk box in one day. There are things you need to take into consideration here. The first is bandwidth. You need to put that server in a real hosting center, not the $9.99/mo all you can eat hosting center that is so prevalent today. If you want to use G.729, your bandwidth requirements drop dramatically, but other issues arise. Unlike a normal call, all meetme call legs are transcoded into slinear and back into the connecting codec. You can look into dedicated transcoder cards like Digium's TC400B, which can transcode 120 calls. The problem with that is that the cards are fairly expensive, maybe $1200+. However, I still think your project is very doable, and the dedicated transcoder cards can be avoided if you have enough bandwidth and decent PC hardware. Your other requirements about the whitelist and managing the conference users is trivial. One thing I think you will like is the flash application I use to manage the conference users. You can check it out here:

If there is anything I can do, please do not hesitate to write me at fsd (at) voipbusiness (dot) us.
