Anybody know how to reset a Snom 190?

Does anybody know how to reset a Snom 190 to factory without using the web interface or TFTP upload?

I have a Snom 190 which has gone 'loopy' ... just keeps rebooting after showing IP & MAC ... won't allow access to TFTP setup (press any button on power up) and obviously no web access ... I need a '3 finger salute' solution if there is one. It was fine until I went in and changed a setting (oops!).

As far as I know the only way to do it is via TFTP on startup.
If you aren't even getting to the "press any key" stage, then I would say your phone has pretty much had it. :-(

I have found others having the same problem on various forums but nobody with a solution.

I can't believe there isn't some kind of hard reset.

The "hard reset" as it were,

The "hard reset" as it were, is the TFTP upgrade on boot. Dont think there is anyway back if you dont even get to that stage.

Snom 190's are very old now in terms of software anyway, you'd be much better just biting the bullet and buying a brand new Snom 300

We buy Snom 300 phones by the box full but I am just irritated that a perfectly good phone can't be reset just because the software has got itself in a muddle.

It remembers the settings, so must have some sort of CMOS battery somewhere. I just need to know how to clear that. I bet Snom know how to do this - and they are supposed to monitor this forum.

I will put it in a cupboard for a millenium!

Or maybe it uses Flash memory to store the settings. (like most phones)
