Having to crank the rxgain very high to get CallerID on TDM400P

I have three analog lines attached to a TDM400P card. I am attaching the output of zaptel_hardware for informational purposes.
I am running Trixbox CE 2.6.2.2

./zaptel_hardware
pci:0000:01:02.0 wctdm+ e159:0001 Wildcard TDM400P REV I

I have found that I do not get CallerID on inbound calls unless I crank up the rxgain to over 23.0. This is fine, except it makes calls very susceptible to outbound echo (the local users hear the echo, but not the remote party). Since this is a small call center, having a working CallerID is very important to their call routing.

I also had to increase the txgain to 5.0 in order for them to navigate certain IVR trees, as at gains lower than 5, DTMF tones were not being detected by the remote IVR.

What, if any, options do I have here? Regular analog phones display the CallerID just fine when attached to these lines, so I don't think I can complain to the carrier.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have,
