I was asked last week about integrating asterisk to allow calls between the asterisk and a GSM provider. My initial thought was using a GSM gateway device, but can someone comment on the performance of the bluetooth connection method? Are inbound/outbound calls pretty seemless? Inbound via the GSM i would hit an IVR, and outbound would be a fairly simple dialplan

dock-n-talk

A simplified option with many more phones supported.

Granted it is $119 and requires an FXO port but it has support for many more devices.
