Simple Signal SIP Trunk Configuration Issue 401 Unauthorized

I have been racking my brain over this for the last 2 weeks and I have no clue why it is doing this.

We have Trixbox 2.8 running. Wanted to setup a SIP trunk to get some additional outbound lines. I decided to go with Simple Signal as they had a resonable service. I have configured my Sip Trunk, Outbound Route and Inbound Route but I can not receive calls or make calls through this trunk. I have assigned 8 as my trunk identifer for now to call outside lines. In talking with Simple Signal they are telling me the following:

When someone is calling into the Trixbox:
It is sending Simple Signal a: 401 Unauthorized asking for cerdentials
It should not do this.

When making outbound calls
The header is sending the number we are calling instead of the trunk pilot user number

Here is my Trunk Configuration on the sip_additional.conf
[USERNAME]
secret=PASSWORD
type=user
context=from-trunk

[SimpleSignal]
host=sip.myvtel.com
username=USERNAME
secret=PASSWORD
Register=yes
type=friend
context=from-trunk
defaultexpirey=3600

I have searched for forum... just not really sure what to search for. I am behind a NAT and it seems to be working since I am getting this information.

Thanks in Advance for the assistance

You are

You are missing insecure=invite in the peer section,
you should have type=peer
You also should leave the user section empty.

Inbound works

So I got my inbound calling working. It works great. I thought I had to have an inbound route. I removed that and my inbound calls worked with out issue. It appears I have my Trunk Configuration correct but maybe my outbound route was setup wrong. I got it fixed so I thought I would post this for someone the next time

My Dialing Rules for my Trunk are blank

My Dialing Rules for my Outbound Route is:
8|1800NXXXXXX
8|1866NXXXXXX
8|1877NXXXXXX
8|1888NXXXXXX
8|1NXXNXXXXXX
8|NXXNXXXXXX
8|NXXXXXX

When I call out from my phones I press 8 and then then 10 digit number for the number including the area code. When I do that i get the asterisk voice that says all circuts are busy now, please try your call again later. My SIP Trunk Settings were wrong.

Caller ID = Username

Trunk Name = Simple Signal

Peer Details:
context=from-trunk
host=sip.myvtel.com
qualify=yes
nat=yes
type=friend
Register=yes
defaultexpirey=3600
insecure=invite
username=USERNAME
secret=PASSWORD
fromuser=USERNAME

I hope this helps in the future!!
