SIP Trunk Backup for Inbound

Hi all. I wonder if someone could lend some advise/experience. I have a Trixbox, functioning just fine with a T1 connected to it from our PSTN Provider (Bell Canada).

Recently, we have had several outages on our T1 circuit. I have been considering adding some sort of backup to enable the phone system when this T1 is down but I have not been able to wrap my head around how inbound call routing could be facilitated. Our Company has 1 main phone number. My question is, that phone number is "attached" to the T1. How can I have it re-route to the SIP trunking service when the T1 is down?

Talk to bell

Bell should be able to configure a divert on fault to any number you specify, so if the T1 goes down bell will see this as a fault and divert the call to your SIP number

Setup a divert from Bell to

Setup a divert from Bell to your SIP trunk. This way you do not have to worry about them going down.
If the SIP trunk becomes unavailable turn the divert off.

What you want cannot be done

What you want cannot be done without talking to Bell they own the number coming in on the T1

If the T1 is down you need bell to do any diverts... No other way I am afraid
