Hi,
We have a customer that we would like to provide SIP trunking to, however, they want to keep their current IP PBX that currently takes a PRI as its voice connection.
What's the best/easiest way to convert SIP coming from Trixbox to a PRI at the customer site?
I've done some reading and it looks like you maybe could do this with a Cisco 2800 or similar, and while I've programmed Cisco equipment before, I've never done anything on the voice side.

Thanks.

You don't need a 2800,

You don't need a 2800, that's a lot of router for the task.

A 2620XM or 2650XM supports the 12.4 IOS with excellent SIP support. Pick up a NM-HDV module and a multiflex t1 WIC and you are in business.

Thanks. Is a NM-HDV

Thanks.
Is a NM-HDV required? I'm probably only going to be doing max 12 channels of g711 audio.

The NM HDV is required to

The NM HDV is required to support the t1 interface for the ISDN PRI, I think the 2800 can take the WIC directly as they support PVDM's on the main board.

Since you have to buy two to support the customer and since you mentioned an EOS router I can assume you are buying on the secondary market.

So :

2651XM - $150

NM-HDV w/ PVDM-12 $125.00
VWIC-1MFT-T1 - $100

$375.00 x2 = $750.00

Still less than one configured 2800.

Ah ok, now I get it. Though

Ah ok, now I get it.
Though I think I would only need one to support the customer since I already have an Asterisk box that would provide the SIP trunk into the 2600 and the PRI would terminate into their Toshiba PBX.
They currently have a Flex-T1 which they want to get rid of that's split using an Adtran 604 into the data and voice channels.

You could replace it with an

You could replace it with an Adtran Total Access 908e which will do the voice/data split AND SIP trunks.
