Why Echo Cancellation

I've never bought a Digium TDM etc. card. I know they come in varieties with and w/o echo cancellation. If you don't know anything except that 4 analog lines will be plugged into the system. Does anybody have an opinion about when it's best to go with the echo cancellation add on? When might you need echo cancellation and when might you be able to forego the extra cost....

What's better for you? Would

What's better for you? Would you rather spend a couple hundred dollars up front and not deal with echo problems or would you rather spend several hours of time trying to deal with echo problems that you can't ever seem to get to go away and then spend a couple of hundred bucks to make the echo go away?

Echo Cancellation

Well, that was kind of the question. I don't know if you need echo cancellation in 1 in a 100 cases or in 1 in 2 cases. If it was one in a hundred, it would be prudent to have an echo cancellation module in stock and use it in the cases that needed echo cancellation. If it's 1 in 2, you'd need to purchase the echo cancellation and put it in each aex800 / TDM card. I've not installed many systems. I don't have any idea how often echo is a problem.

I agree that if I installed many systems it might be prudent to just take the cautious route every time.

You are more the voice of experience and I thank you for getting back to me.
