This is the error message we are getting

"Your server cannot be reached over the internet right now. We tried for 15 seconds to connect...."

This is an existing server running Trixbox pro.

All was fine until 3 days ago. Our server is 124684

Server has been rebooted twice.
Confirmed I could ping from server to google.ca to make sure it was going through gateway.

Any ideas..

James

From "Trixbox Pro FAQ's"

The trixbox Pro control panel thinks my server is offline

This is usually caused by the following:

1.

The VPN tunnels to our data centers are not established correctly.

a. The trixbox Pro system does not have a working internet connection. Ensure you can ping hosts outside of your network, for example: www.google.com, www.yahoo.com, 4.2.2.4. Try to ping your gateway address, does it work?

b. DNS is not resolving the names of our VPN servers properly. If you can’t ping www.yahoo.com due to DNS not resolving names to IP addresses, this will cause the tunnels to not establish.

c. Outbound traffic to our VPN servers is being blocked, see the trixbox Pro Installation Guide for information regarding what ports are required for the trixbox Pro system to operate properly.
2.

Asterisk is not running on your trixbox Pro system.

a. Asterisk is having troubles initializing analog/T1/E1 cards. If you have changed settings recently, there is a chance that the settings did not apply correctly.

Trixbox DNS

It looks like it was the DNS server.

Thanks for the help.

Problem reoccurs

We just initialized a new firewall (sonicwall) inside our office.
Trixbox is running but will not connect to cp.trixbox.com
I can ping, the gateway, the VPN1.trixbox.com and VPN2, as well as any outside IP number, such as google.com
Our server is 124684, does it need to be resynced with Trixbox?

vtuns

Check the vtuns are up.

from the command line run: ps aux | grep vtun

You should see something like this

Mar30 0:18 vtund[c]: trixbox124684 tun tun0
Apr06 0:48 vtund[c]: trixbox124684-2 tun tun1

If you see "connecting" then your server cannot connect through the virtual tunnels. Ensure ports 8000 and 9000 TCP are open to fonality.

Can you ping vpn1.trixbox.com on port 8000?
