I was reading my daily logwatch report from our trixbox (server # 104442) and received the following:

--------------------- Kernel Begin ------------------------

2 Time(s): WANPIPE(tm) Hardware Support Module Stable 2.3.4-9 (c) 1994-2007 Sangoma Technologies Inc
2 Time(s): WANPIPE(tm) Interface Support Module Stable 2.3.4-9 (c) 1994-2007 Sangoma Technologies Inc
2 Time(s): WANPIPE(tm) Multi-Protocol WAN Driver Module Stable 2.3.4-9 (c) 1994-2007 Sangoma Technologies Inc
2 Time(s): wanpipe: No AFT/S514/S508 cards found, unloading modules!
2 Time(s): wanpipe: Probing for WANPIPE hardware.
1 Time(s): wanpipe: no version for "zt_ec_span" found: kernel tainted.

---------------------- Kernel End -------------------------

This was not in previous logs. Is there anything i should be concerned about? All appears to be working OK

Hi fdstech,

I'll have one of our engineers confirm whether this will affect anything or not.

fdstech, The message: "2

fdstech,

The message: "2 Time(s): wanpipe: No AFT/S514/S508 cards found, unloading modules!" simply means that the wanpipe startup scripts didn't find those type of cards on the system. They're harmless. Unless of course you have one of those cards.

Regarding the "kernel tainted" message, normally this means (from what I gather off the internet) that there is a driver that has been loaded which does not advertise that it is an open-source driver. Since the Sangoma wanpipe driver is, however open-sourced, it may be due to the way that it's being compiled. This too, is harmless.

Thanks,

Ben
