Not knowing your system

Not knowing your system configuration, nobody can say what your problem is. It could be the dialplan on your phones but you didn't give enough information for anyone to provide useful feedback. I use Pro at home and my calls go out instantly.

This is why I think that if you are trying to evaluate a product the manufacture should offer some kind of support during a evaluation period. Especially when they can log in and see what is going on!

Maybe if you provided more

Maybe if you provided more information on your problems you'd get more helpful answers, quicker.

telcom facing all with have

telcom facing all with have at the moment is a Digium Wildcard TDM400P card configured as a TDM422P, only one port is connected a fxo to a standard BT analog line.

internally we are using 2 Grandstream GXP2000 and a softphones, the problem happens with both.

Try pressing..

The Send button or the # key on the grandstream

I did have one SIP only install which would take upwards fo 40 seconds to initiate a call - that turned out to be a DNS issue - had to tell the trixbox to use the ISP DNS servers and not the router IP address which everything else was working just fine on!

RevDarkman, tried the Send

RevDarkman,

tried the Send key but still takes the same length of time to make the external call. Not sure it's DNS related because extension to extension calls are instant, it’s just when going out via the phone line to an external number.

What does your dialplan look

What does your dialplan look like? If you create a more specific dial plan your digits should go out quicker. With you being in the uk I am not certain what your dialplan should be.

But for example in the US, I use the following dial string for domestic long distance.
9 + 1nxxnxxxxxx STRIP 1 digit
So as soon as you dial 9 then the 11 digit phone number the call will go out instantly.

But if I had a dial string of:
9 + 1. STRIP 1 digit
Then there will be a pause or "interdigit timeout" (it is waiting to see if you are going to dial any more digits, after the interdigit timeout has expired the call is then placed) The dial string doesnt know that my 11 digits I have dialed is my full phone number.

Ddavidson,

Interesting, I have gone for the simple and used 9 + . STRIP 1 digit.

I will remove the old one and try a more complex one 9 + xxxxxxxxxxx STRIP 1 digit, our area codes can start 01

thanks,
