Sprecode & Parking 57i
I wonder if any one knows if it is possible to alter the sprecode from its published settings.

For those who are not aware of this code, it controls the park key and you will find it in your MAC.cfg. By default it is set to 'asterix;70' I want to change this to 'Speeddial/Xfer;70'.

Let me explain why.

At present, when a call is answered and the park key is used, the operator then has to press "GoodBye Key" before the screen shows where the call is parked and the user can dial to pass the call on. This may seem normal to some, or use of an extra key to complete the call is a trivial task.

However, I have yet to find an end-user who can make any sense out of it:

"I've parked the call and now I have to press the Goodbye key.........."
"why?!".

They then forget how to do this, highly intuitive, key to function and certainly fail to explain it to any one else.

Now, by the simple use of Speeddial/Xfer;70 from any other soft key, the whole operation is achieved by pressing the new key ........ call parked ... prompt on screen .... dial away! Obvious!

So why the beef, just put it on a soft key and off you go!

Trouble is that if you use one of the bottom keys, you cant get it to appear on the top menu when a call is answered and as there are so few slots on the top menu it seems silly to use one of these up, and there is no guarantee that it would be on the top menu when a call is answered anyway.

The simple requirement of a business phone is to make, answer, hold and pass a call and the aastra 57i gets top marks on 3 of them (remember the word simple, most users are!)

It can't be a rewrite, it can't be difficult as it has already been shown that it can do it at the moment. So it can only be a small patch.

did you ever get a rosloution to this

I too would like to see different behavior from the park sprecode button. I would like it to perform a blind transfer rather then the attended call transfer behavior as it does now for the exact same reasons as described above. Has anyone ever got this to happen?

Same probelm

I too have the same issue and just posted in the pro help forum. I have 40+ 53i's and one 57i. I need a softkey for park. sprecode 9000 parks the call but doesn't release it from the phone. In the CE version i can speeddial ##70# and the call parks and orbit the way a business system should. The 57i also has a xfer button but the 53's do NOT and i need to get one set up. Why a phone would come without these features pre-programmed and/or the lack of documentation on this process is befuddling to say the least. IMO this will be the LAST PRO install i do. It is also my first as all other installs have been CE. PRO has HALF the features of CE at the expense of "hardend" code. I can't even get ring groups which the 15 year old system were replacing does oh so well....

Any help would be appreciated....

Not sure if this is what you

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but here goes. If memory serves me correctly, sprecode is only if you want to use the reserved button on Aastra phones for Xfer/parking.

If you want to use one button for parking and one for pickup or want to do it a different way you do not use sprecode. You can get any softbutton to park using speedialxfer. I am doing this from memory but this is one way to do it on a 57i.

topsoftkey4 type: speeddialxfer
topsoftkey4 label: "Park"
topsoftkey4 value: 700

topsoftkey5 type: xml
topsoftkey5 label: "Pickup"
topsoftkey5 value: http://yourserverIPhere:80/aastra/asterisk/park.php?user=$$SIPUSERNAME$$&key=topsoftkey5
