We purchased a new 160 for a client and I thought that the new firmware updates would allow you to do alittle more customization.

Are you able to:

Disable the Save / Delete button on the 53i like you can from the aastra.cfg file?

Remove the Message List like you are able to in the aastra.cfg file?

I see that the phone basically gets blocked out from the UI to make changes.

Aastralink Pro 160 on Trixbox Forum?

I played with the Aastralink Pro 160 when it first launched 6-7 months ago, it does quite well.
Although I had to use strictly the totally new released Aastra phones for this purpose.

But somehow, got back to liking Trixbox more and more after seeing so many PBX releases out there, GXE, ALinkPro, Essence, etc...
Still nothing beats Trixbox...

Cheers!

Aastralink Pro 160 is horrible

I have three of these units connected together using Aastra's version of a linked server. All three are nothing but problems. I'll probably loose the customer and it will probably cost me thousands to take care of this problem. Not to mention the ill will the customer has for us. They've been buggy as h411 since original install in July. All I want to do is view the Asterisk logs but no! That's reserved for the Aastra technicians only. They want me to install a syslog daemon on their network. The way it works is the 160 downloads the logs to a syslog daemon located on another machine! O.M.G. So Aastra wants a direct connection to not only the 160 (which I can understand) but *other* devices on the network? That's a bunch of bull. Why can't they just FTP in to the 160 and collect the data? Or better yet, what's so proprietary that I can't do that myself? Aastra's phones are OK but the 160 sux0rz.
