Echo with aastra phones

I have a weird issue. I have installed (to experiment) the 3cx softphone on my network, and I am trying to communicate between an aastra 6739i and a 3cx softphone, and unfortunately there is echo on the aastra phone. The 3cx is fine, no echo on that end, plenty of echo on aastra's end and wondering what can be the cause.

I have tried several 3cx installs (on an Android phone, on an Ipad, on a Windows machine), all behave the same - echo when communicating with an aastra phone (on aastra's side). Communicating in between 3cx phones is also allright.

Of course, when communicating in between aastra phones, all is good. Same when dialing in or out. In conclusion, the echo seems to be only when communicating in between the 3cx softphone and the aastra phone (on aastra's side).

Any idea how this can be fixed?

Thanks.

dudu - I don't know how

dudu - I don't know how anyone could respond to this question. To fix it I would start at the beginning, look at log traces and figure out why it is not working and then fix the problem I found or search for a work around.

It's basic troubleshooting.

You can't troubleshoot a problem like this without interacting with the system.

Correct. The problem was in

Correct. The problem was in no way related to the aastra phones, but rather to the quality of the softphone, or lack of it thereof. Simply put, there is no echo canceller (or perhaps a very basic one) in the 3cx softphone, therefore, when on the other side of the conversation with such a phone, you will always here yourself talk.

The problem gets worse when installing the 3cx phone on a Windows laptop where the mic is very close to the speakers, then the echo is unbearable.

I solved the issue - well, solved it is a way of saying ... by replacing the 3cx softphone with one with better echo cancelling functionality (bria). This did the trick at least for me.
