Login problem with 55i: you are already using extension NNN on this phone

I have a single 55i with the XML scripts loaded and the phone asks for and extension and password but gives the following error.

"You already using extension NNN on this phone"

It worked one time and then when it was rebooted it asked again and now this is all I get is that error message. I can put some other extension in and it will work one time. In the web admin for the phone it has assigned the first attempt to line 1 and the second attempt to line 2. I am using the extension manager of trixbox.

Help!

You need to delete the

You need to delete the config file from the tftpboot directory then delete that station from var/cache/aastra/startup_asterisk.cfg

As powerful as the Aastra XML Scripts are, I'm surprised that the functionality to delete the "cached" information wasn't implemented in the form of a Button (softkey) on the phone, perhaps labeled, "Delete This Ext in Cache". It would certainly save a lot of headache from the end user perspective.

I'm unfortunately not experienced enough as a programmer to implement this. It is simply an idea. Hopefully someone with the intelligence and skills can implement this.

Ok that fixed one problem

I was having this problem with a 55i and a 9143i. However now when the phones reboot, restart, etc they come up and ask for the ext & password.

They didn't start out like that.

Help?

Next version of the scripts...

In the next version of the scripts there will be a new admin tool which will allow the admin to login/logout/reboot a phone/user, this should solve this kind of issues.

Stay tuned, the scripts should be available in September 2009.
