We would like to setup some Aastra 6731's in common area's. How can we restrict the phones only to be allowed to dial internal extensions.
Thanks

We use the 6757i here. So, this may be different on your model.
Easiest way I can think of would be to modify the phones local dial plan. You can find it in the web interface by logging into the phone.
Then go to Basic Settings -> Preferences. It will be in the General section and labeled Local Dial Plan. You'll probably want to look at the administrator's guide to see what needs to be set. We use the configuration files (aastra.cfg / macxxxxxxx.cfg) via TFTP for all of our phones. It makes it easy to personalize, when necessary.
Anyway, just restrict it to your extension range and it should be good.

I believe you have to be logged in as admin on the phone. The default on the 6757i is user: admin / password: 22222. You may have to look in the Administrator's Guide for the 6731i. I'm not sure why they'd be different.
