Is there any way I can configure a 480i that gives the user a method for him to "lock" his keypad?

I have users who wish to be able to lock their phones when they are away from their desks so as to prevent unauthorized persons walking by from making calls that from their extensions.

xml

I think that this could be put in the XML scripts pretty easily. You could code up an xml page that asked for login credentials and put that in a softkey. Im not sure how you would disable the goodbye key to keep people from backing out of that login.

alternatively, you could just have people log out. with the new scripts the phone does not reboot so the process is quick.

Phone lock is available for the user

It can be set using the text user interface or the web interface (logged in as user)
on the TUI - options - 7 lock phone.
on the webui under the phone lock section.

It allows emergency numbers to be called even when the phone is locked

Sorry that update was for the 2.x software only.

That works for the 9480i but not the 480i
