Hello,
I have been asked by a client to see if it is possible to setup a "click to dial" (from a PC application) on a Polycom 650 (or any of the Soundpoint IP family). The PC will be running an in house application that pulls dialing information from a CRM database. I have read some about Sutus' Sutus Connector that seems to accomplish something like this. They are running Trixbox CE 2.8.0.4. I have also read some about an Polycom app 'PUSH' that might be a component of doing something like this.
Being that the phone has a web server and appears to be based on a Linux core/kernel and has an internal application platform, that something like this certainly should be possible (with proper security of course). The need is only to dial he phone as an aid to sales staff and to avoid mis-dialing, etc. They have something like this now on their existing key system that Trixbox will be replacing and the client wants to preserve the feature if at all possible. If Sutus can do this, then there must be some platform/API facility that would be suitable to code something up to do this.
I am fairly new to the Polycom platform/family, so any pointers as to how to approach this (if it is even possible) would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
