Hello All,
I just got a Polycom 8020 phone that I am playing with. I used the Handset Admin tool to register it using EAP-FAST and CCX. The phone can dial and recieve calls. With the phone on-hook ping times are very high >500ms which I attribute to the phone and network power save features. So far so good.
When I take the phone off-hook to make a call I see ping times drop to like 3-9ms for a few seconds. Afterwards they jump all over the place from 30ms-150ms on average. Lots of jitter causing robotic sounding voice at times. This happens even if I am right next to the AP. I've followed the Polycom guidlines for configuring the WLCs (v7.0.98). Using LWAPs (1131,1142,3502i) on the network. Hnas anybody ran across this before? I would think throughout the voice conversation the ping times should stay low.
Interestingly I can take an iPhone with the Bria software client and during a voice call ping times stay around 7-15ms so little variation in jitter.
