I just completed upgrading my trixbox appliance form 2.6 to 2.8. Once complete, I decelided to make sure my grandstream 2020 and ht286 devices had the latest firmware.
Previously the devices were configured to use DHCP option 66 which pointed them to the TFTP server on the trixbox to download the firmware and config file. I noticed that the firmware in the tftp directory for the Grandstream devices was older than that which is available on the Grandstream website.
I downloaded the firmware and put them in a subdirectory of the tftp site, one for the GXP and one for the HT devices. I separated them because it appears that they have overlapping named files yet the files were not the same. This is different from the way tribox had it as it had all the Grandstream files on the tftp root directory. I reset each phone to download the firmware and configuration via TFTP from 192.168.20.20/grandstream/gxp or 192.168.20.20/grandstream/ht. This is where I put the firmware downloaded from Grandstream.
My question is, is this correct or do I need to get the configuration from the one supplied by trixbox in the tftp root directory. The phones appear to be working fine.
The firmware I am using is:
Release_BT200_GXP_1.2.2.19
Release_HT486-HT286_1.1.0.42
