Hi,
I am sorry; I am not a big xml programmer. That being said I have an idea of its use etc. I, like many others, likely, could use some help with some sample xml files / applications:
1) Is it possible to use xml to send info to phone about what did / trunk was called by inbound caller? If so, could you please provide an example of how to do this? I.e. "Calling ABC Dept" / "Calling in on XXX-XXX-XXXX" .
In my case, I have two companies and 4 departments for which I would like to see who is being called. Some of my people where more than one hat and work for more than one company / department and I would like them to know how to answer the phone. Also we have two languages, so I would like people to know which language to answer in.
2) In opposite route to above, is there a way to use xml to set cid for outgoing calls? I would like to be able to either use soft / hard keys to dial out and have it show relevent applicable i.e. "ABC Department".
Alternative 1, I would like to be able to use xml to set outgoing route/trunk.
Alternate 2, I would like xml to help send proper info so right dial plan is used.
Alternate 3, the one I am trying to avoid, is to require typing prefix ie 8 or 9 etc to pick cid to be used. Also, this last option is very limiting.
3) I suspect parts of this are quite easy but ... I have one of the Nortel retail phones preceded the 480i. My home pots provider "Bell Canada" is constantly flashing up little messages / promo information on screen while it is not in use. How do you push the 480i these types of messages from time to time.
How do you cycle through these messages (this may be the more complicated part).
Thanks.
Regards
Peter
