Is there any way to adjust the volume (incoming and outgoing) on a particular SIP trunk? There seems to be a way to change the volume for zap trunks but I need to do the same for SIP.

thanks!

Re: Adjusting volume on SIP trunks

Hi GreenTapir,
I posed this question on a different thread and the short answer is no. Not at least from the TB. The reason you can on a zap call is that the zap devise is an AtoD/DtoA converter and during the analogue phase of the conversion the volume can be adjusted by programming the AtoD chip. Hense, that is what the Txgain/Rxgain is in zaptel.conf.
A SIP phone on the other hand generates the TCP/IP packets and passes them on to the TB which inturn just passes then on to your SIP service provider. To disect each packet re-sample and re-package streaming data is asking a bit too much of the old TB (as good as it is).

The plase to look for any change in volume is your endpoint (sounds rude that) your phone I mean. ;-)

Re: Adjusting volume on SIP trunks

Slavnist,

Thanks for your response! I was hoping that there was a way to increase the volume on the SIP trunk but that does not seem possible.

I am using SPA3000s to connect to the traditional phone lines and GXP2000s within the office. If I increase the PSTN to VOIP volume on the SPA3000s any more I get echo problems. As is, there is no echo, but the outside calls are clearly not as loud as the VOIP calls between phones in the office. I wish there was a way no avoid raising and lowering the volume for every call with the phone's volume control. Purchasing something other than the Linksys/Sipuras may be my only option.
