Is there any plan for Polycom to release IAX2 firmware for any of their phones?
We use 601's for almost all of our customer sites, and would love to have IAX's network capabilities available for small offices/telecommuters.

Why would they do that? SIP is the standard and it works well. I use Polycoms remotely all the time.

Some of our customers site phones behind very restrictive firewalls ("hotlines" between development teams at different companies, borrowed office space, etc.), and their firewall administrators do not want to allow the broad range of ports that SIP uses. It would also make putting a server install behind a NAT router far easier.
I've had no problems getting remote SIP to work when I can get the firewall open, but not every paranoid security manager wants to open that much up...
