SNTP and polycom IP330

Hey there,

I was wondering why my SoundPoint IP330 won't synchronize with either my Win2003 server (using W32Time service for SNTP) nor my NTPd service on GNU Linux server.
Wireshark shows that the phone correctly sends a NTP query and gets an answer, but the clock won't update on the LCD.

Any clue about that ?

Thanks folks.

Is the time blinking? Or is the time not reflecting the correct time zone (GMT Offset)?

Blinking time is an

Blinking time is an indication the phone couldn't configure its time from an SNTP. Your wireshark pcap indicates this is trying to take place, but the phone never gets it. Are other phones using this same source? Is SNTP provided by DHCP? Or CFG file? Are you using tcpIpApp.sntp.address.overrideDHCP = "1" (overrides DHCP) and tcpIpApp.sntp.address? Is an SNTP configured via the phone menu?

The (S)NTP source is

The (S)NTP source is actually provided by DHCP option 42. I have two IP330 phones trying to synchronize on this IP. There's nothing changed from the initial configuration file and no SNTP configured via the menu. So no override should happen (Otherwise, I guess the NTP request I see on the pcap file wouldn't be adressed to my server)

Sorry for updating this but my issue hasn't been resolved so far.
What are other people using here ? NTPd on their Linux ? Public NTP servers ?

Old post, but...

I had the same problem, I provision NTP via DHCP also.
For some reason the 320 and 650 I have decided to ignore the NTP it got from the Trixbox, I resulted in using time.nist.gov, that was a fix.
I also tried a 3rd party NTP on another win box (Tardis) and that worked correctly too.

Weird.
