we have configured successfully Asterisk 1.4 with Redfone(E1)
The problem is:
we have two different sound qualities of voice for incoming and outgoing calls,
the incoming voice calls are good(both ends receive normal sound and produce).

but we experience difficulties with outgoing call(both ends receive low quality of sound , with noise).

we assume that there is a problem with the voice codecs configurations ,but we don't know exactly which codecs:on Redfone or Asterisk

urgent help needed!!!

I've got the same problem

I've got the same problem with a T1, adding "alaw=1-62" doesn't do the trick. I assume it's because our T1's don't use alaw? Any idea's the static is awful. Is it possible I could have a bad line from the FoneBridge to the T1 card?

I checked you config files

I checked you config files you need to change the dynamic span lines like this

dynamic=ethmf,eth0/00:50:c2:65:d3:92/0,24,0
dynamic=ethmf,eth0/00:50:c2:65:d3:92/1,24,1
The second span should be the timing master, even if you are not using it.

this did the trick for me, set timing on second as master...
